In Uzbekistan, as in many post-Soviet countries, numerous social norms have been preserved. For example, until 2018, it was not allowed to take photographs in the Tashkent metro. This ban was lifted under the new president, but there are still places where signs saying "no photography" are present.
The older generation has a tendency to adhere to prohibitions, so unofficial signs can also be found – they are favored by ordinary residents of the buildings.
Sometimes their quantity is astonishing :)

As part of the workshop, I decided to suggest to the residents of Tashkent to abandon aggressive signs and replace them with friendly ones. Tashkent is a very hospitable and relaxed city in spirit, so I believe that my signs are more suitable for it.

The work was prepared as part of the workshop on social design "Mapping the City: Tashkent" at the Goethe Institute.
