When I was little, our family had a vanity mirror. I loved how, by stepping closer and closing its side panels, I could see myself from all angles. My mom kept her makeup and other valuable items on its shelves. I had my own "treasures," but I knew that when I grew up, they would change — just like my mom’s.
Efflorescentia reflects the life metamorphoses of a woman through the image of a vanity mirror, where each of the three mirrors symbolizes a stage of her life. The shelves hold objects that connect a woman to nature and her inner world. Seemingly ordinary at first glance, these items invite us to see their hidden connection to our experiences and memories in a new light.
